Academic Activities

The college has a diverse array of societies which provide a forum for students to showcase their academic and co-curricular talents. These societies arrange events/competitions at inter and intra college levels. Debates, workshops, seminars by experts in certain fields, paper reading and writing contests, and discussions, paper presentation, fashion shows, singing competitions and cultural performances are organized by these societies.  The Commerce Association, English Association, Economics Association, Hindi Sahitya Sabha, Sanskrit Parishad and Sanskriti-the society of the history department are some of the departmental level societies. With the help of student representatives these societies function throughout the year under the guidance of faculty, organizing events which are a curious amalgamation of academic and cultural in nature.

Departments continuously organize academic activities like paper reading by students, quizzes, inviting guest speakers, organising seminars and talks where renowned academicians, writers, researchers, sports persons, leaders are invited to inspire the young minds.

Cultural

The various cultural activities in the college are organized primarily through the various students’ societies under the aegis of The cultural committee of the college. Students’ Union

The Students’ Union is an active organization which, with the loving guidance of a committee of teachers, provides effective leadership in various activities geared to bringing out the best in the students by organizing educational tours, get-togethers etc. An annual festival , that showcases the multifarious talents and enthusiasm of the students, the Students’ Union of the college is affiliated to M.D.U.

Women Cell The Women’s Development Cell of the College undertakes a variety of activities to promote Women‘s empowerment and awareness. The women cell functions with the following purposes;
  • To make them aware of their rights.
  • To help them in knowing the importance of gook health and nutrition and facilities available for them.
  • To help them in developing decision making abilities and be self-dependent.
  • To help them in raising their voice against all kinds of discrimination.
  • To help them in changing their mind sets.
  • To assist them in overall development of their personality.
NSS / Youth Red Cross

The college runs diverse NSS/YRC units. The primary aim of NSS/YRC is to impart education through community service and to stimulate the participation of the volunteers in constructive and extension work in slums and backward villages, where they are encouraged and expected to solve the different problems faced by the inhabitants. Students of all classes are eligible for enrolment in NSS/YRC. Enthusiastic volunteers are even selected for training and special camps are organised by NSS/YRC. By participating in such programmes, the students can reap different kinds of benefits too. Not only do they become socially responsible citizens. But are also awarded certificates which carry and additional weightage at the time of placements and admissions in higher classes.
